So delayed but here as promised, my rather rubbish photos I took at Crufts 2014. It was a good day out though. I got to say hello to the lovely ‘Prince’ a handsome coton de tulear who was all prepped for the show, so I was stroking him as carefully as possible so I didn’t mess up his fur. I didn’t stray far from the toy breeds and so my pictures are of them. I hope you enjoy them even though the quality could be better. I plan to have a better camera for next year 😉

New Toy!!
I got to visit Crufts yesterday and was really shown how much I need to upgrade my camera.. I have some photos but they have a lot of noise as my camera only has noise reduction for long shots at high ISO’s 😦 However, in the meantime before I upload those Crufts photos I thought I would share some photos I got this morning of my kids and Serendipity who was thoroughly enjoying the new toy I picked up for her from Crufts from Extra Dog. I’ve been looking for months for a sturdy floatable toy we can play with at the natural pond to encourage her to swim a little more. Finally found one in the form of a flourescent orange firehose float! yay!! So do enjoy the photos I took today and you’ll get to meet my kids too, love ’em 🙂
Seeing as I used the manual programme for this shoot here’s the settings I used:
ISO: 100
Aperture: 7.1
Shutter speed: 640
Lens: 18-200mm f 3.5-6.3
and a bonus funny shot and my favourite shot of the day despite the lack of conventional photo proportions:
Filling time
I’ve been pretty busy lately but I haven’t had a lot of opportunities to get out with my camera. I’ve also officially switched into manual mode now and I am becoming much more confident with my settings. I think I’ve got it figured out why I was having issues with the ‘soft’ water approach down by the river so I will be attempting it again soon. In the mean time I’ve just got a few random photos from dog walks and a spot of birdwatching. The first picture was a cute fluffy caterpillar just strolling across the road, and the photos of the robin, this little guy was seemingly perfectly happy for me to get within a very short distance of him, and yet even at full zoom he still seems very far away, it’s time I started to look into a 300mm lens. Oh and hopefully I will have some good photos coming up as I will be heading off to Crufts at the weekend yay! 🙂
